St. John's Primary School Teams

The Extra Curricular Activity programme follows the 3-season model of Fall, Winter and Spring and within this model we are proud to be able to provide local competition opportunities for our Primary School (PS) teams.

For PS students we have representative interscholastic St. John’s teams in Football, Basketball and Swimming and these teams are populated by those attending the corresponding ExtraCurricular Activity.

The purpose of the PS sports teams is to provide local competition opportunities, maximising playing time and having fun together as a team in preparation for the transition to Middle School St. John’ sports teams.

Service Projects

Service is an integral part of the IB Diploma as expressed through the Creativity, Activity and Service Programme (CAS) for all students from the very youngest members of our student body.

All students are encouraged to support local charities and fundraising events. Older students even plan their own projects such as support for “Born in Africa” (https://www.borninafrica.org/), a development programme based in South Africa.

Simply put, CAS continues a student’s education outside of the classroom. It is an opportunity to develop skills and interests, and to contribute to various communities.

CAS is intended to help students develop as individuals, through a process of self-discovery, self-awareness, and reflection. They will assess their strengths and areas they wish to work on and will reflect on the activities as they carry them out.
