Arts Support Program
Supporting the arts program at school
The Visual and Performing Arts Support Program consists of a group of volunteer parents and faculty who essentially support, promote, and celebrate the visual and performing arts at St. John’s. We work together in a variety of ways throughout the year.
The school’s Art Gallery provides the setting for several “Vernissages” or art exhibitions where The Arts Support Program provides food and refreshments.
The state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center hosts musicals, concerts and plays where Arts Support volunteers are busy with a multitude of activities. Helping with props, costumes, make-up, sets, music, tickets, not to mention serving at the bar are necessary, much-appreciated, and really fun ways to become part of the production.
Fundraisers are also held by the Arts Support Program which benefit charities as well as some visual and performing arts needs of the school.
It is really the people of our community, coming together with energy and enthusiasm, who make our events a success. As I once heard an out-of-work actor waiting on tables say, “There are no small parts, only small portions.” So come on out, get involved and play a part in the Visual and Performing Arts Support Program. Meetings are held monthly.
