Elementary School Library Resource Center

Whether it’s a Newbery Award winner, the current bestseller, a well-loved classic, a picture book to fall asleep by, a book in “your” language, a nonfiction book for your PYP project or an audio book for a family road trip—your Library Resource Center has it all. Come check it out!

Middle and High School Library Resource Center

The Middle and High School Library Resource Center is a shared facility and can be found on A-level in the main High School block. The facility is designed to meet the diverse research and leisure reading needs of the St. John’s community and incorporates an audio-visual room, reference room and dedicated silent study areas. In addition, the main reading area is an attractive, inviting space where all can read, relax and take time to enjoy an extensive array of reading materials.

The library holds a fine, well-balanced collection of nearly 24,000 books. Our carefully selected collection of periodicals, magazines, audio-visual materials, CD-ROMs, DVDs and videos aims to meet the array of research and reading needs of our international student population. Our foreign language fiction collection contains French, German, Korean, Dutch, Swedish and Spanish books and is in constant development.

The online collection has been developed to provide a world of quality reference information to students both at home and at school—a virtual library at your fingertips, 24 hours a day. The facility links the paper world with the paperless through its PC work stations, all with high speed Internet access.

There is an extensive collection of college and career information available for our High School students as they plan their third level education. For IB students embarking on their extended essays, we maintain a collection of previous work completed by St. John’s students.

The Library Resource Center staff are dedicated to providing the St. John’s community with a quality service and progressive instructional program. Middle and High School students have access to the Library Resource Center during the school day, individually or with a class visit. We are here to guide and support students through the research process as well as fostering a life-long love of reading. This is achieved through close collaboration with faculty and direct participation in curriculum development and delivery.
