Theater Technology is offered to any HS student. The course should enable students to feel better at ease with stage technology and give them access to the performing arts even if they do not feel confident enough to perform in front of a crowd, while still wanting to be part of the creating process.
Students taking the class for the first time will be required to attend 6 Wednesday afternoon classes covering basics in sound, lighting nd electricity. Upon successful completion of the classes, students will be able to participate in hands on training during school productions,
conferences, events in the PAC Theater, the Black Box Theater and events around the school. Students will become a vital part of these shows. The schedule of events will be posted early in the year for students to adapt their schedule in order to be available, or to give notice to their instructor if they can’t attend specific events.
After the first year, students will be handed more responsibilities and could be asked, depending on their progress, to take control of the entire
technical production of a show.
