Important notes
- This is a one-time fee to cover administrative costs for students applying to St. John’s for the first time and is NON-REFUNDABLE. Applications will not be processed for approval until the application fee has been received. Indication of receipt of the application fee will be included with the tuition invoice to permit parents to claim reimbursement from employers.
- Parents may incur additional charges for children enrolled in special education classes.
- Receipt of fees by the due date is a pre-condition to the student’s attendance in class. Fees for students enrolled after official payment dates are due upon receipt of invoice.
- Please do not effect payment until you have received an invoice from the school, which will include payment instructions. If you have not received an invoice prior to the enrollment of your child, or if there is any reason your payment of the fees is delayed, please contact the school’s Accounting Department.
- The enrollment of a student is an individual contract between the parents and the school regardless of any arrangement parents may have with their employer concerning the payment of the school fees for their child(ren).
- If fund transfers are made from banks outside of Belgium, please insure that all transfer costs and commissions are for the account of the payer. If the school is credited with less than the full amount of the invoice due to bank charges, it will be necessary to re-bill the payer for the remaining balance.
- School records, grade transcripts, and diplomas will be withheld until all financial obligations to the school have been settled in full.
- All payments should be made by bank transfer to: St. John’s International School
- The above fees have been determined on our best estimate of costs for the 2012–2013 school year. The administration reserves the right to modify them, should this prove to be necessary.
School field trips
Elementary School students in Grades 3, 4 and 5, and all Middle School students participate in an extended field trip each year during regular school time, as part of the curriculum. The cost of these trips is included in the school tuition charge. Since they are considered an integral part of the school program in these grades, there will be no refund should a child not be able to participate, for whatever reason.
The trips described above are as follows:
Grade 3—Classes de Plein Air, Ardennes, Tuesday to Friday (three nights)
Grade 4—Classes de Plein Air, Belgian coast, Monday to Friday (four nights)
Grade 5—Classes de Plein Air, another European country, Monday to Thursday (three nights)
Grade 6—Classes de Neige, ski trip (5 or 6 days)
Grade 7—Ardèche trip, France (6 days)
Grade 8—Trip to selected European city or region (6 days)
High School—Day Away
Shorter field trips may be organized in the school context which are not a mandatory part of the curriculum. There may be an additional charge for these. Approximately three quarters of the cost of High School extracurricular sports and related arts travel is charged to parents of participating students, on a season-by-season basis.
