Welcome to St. John’s Elementary School!
It is my pleasure to welcome you to our school. St. John’s Elementary School is a quality centre of learning where children can achieve their best in an environment where “caring” is not just an overused word but is embraced in all its forms.
St. John’s is the constant for our children, even when things get stressful. This is made possible with an excellent staff team that believes, respects and fosters the ethos of our school which is based on Christian values, academic excellence and cultural diversity. The staff has a special way of relating to our students, their families and each other that conveys compassion, understanding, respect and interest alongside high academic expectations. They see the potential in each child and look beyond the obvious.
“Our experienced, dedicated and nurturing teachers guide each student in their academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual growth, helping each child achieve his or her unique personal potential.”
Our internationally recognized programs, the International Baccalaureate Organization's Primary Years Programme (PYP), provides structures for an exciting, child centered curriculum that lays the foundations for future learning.
Guided by the original FCJ mission statement for the learning and growing of each child, our Elementary Code of Conduct and the PYP Learner Profile, each child is able to enjoy success and happiness in their daily interaction with others. Our children inspire us, the adults in their lives, to be lifelong learners.
As you walk through our school you will sense a warm welcome and a feeling of belonging. St. John’s gives each child a place where trust, safety, predictability and constancy is guaranteed.
We, as educators, look forward to working as partners with parents to provide a caring community for us all. We cannot have one without the other.
I hope you will have the opportunity to visit our school and experience for yourself why this is a very special place indeed.
